Daphne Drape Top pattern ~ Sew News ~ June/July

This is the first of my new group of patterns. Some are for knits only and some can be used with knits and woven fabrics. My article on page 50 of Sew News and is about working with Slinky. I'm a little behind on the completion of the pattern and driving off to Minneapolis for Spring Market. If you're going to be there...stop by to see me at Booth # 1113. I looked at the list of vendors and it appears EVERYONE will be there. CLICK HERE for more info about the pattern....

When I get back I will list the knit and woven fabrics.

Friday Fest in Fort Pierce, Florida

Well, it was a busy weekend in Fort Pierce, FL. They had Friday Fest (which is scheduled for the first Friday of each month unless there are weather issues) and a "Hooked On Music" Festival on Saturday.
I haven't been to Fort Pierce in years but I wanted to check it out because next month...there will be the OffshoreBig3 Fishing Tournament to benefit the Hibisicus House Children's Center. Probably one of the biggest in the state. They also have great Margaritas and all kinds of food.

The photo below is of Lana and her family from Canada enjoying the festivities.

Kona Bay Asian Fabric Panel

I cut up a Kona Bay Asian fabric panel and appliqued them on a denim jacket. I added a machine embroidered applique from my Amazing Designs Collection too. Now i am getting ready to add beads and Swarovski crystals. Love that bling. Doug (the owner) of Kona Bay Fabrics put it up on his Facebook Fan Page. I would link to it but I couldn't figure out how to do it. But I can link to his BLOG.
Kona Bay has some NEW Asian panels...I'll let you know when I have them. Meanwhile...keep on sewin'.

Some of my Favorite Fabrics

I just love these fabrics. I pieced them together to create a corset for Belle Armoire magazine (Stampington). I love all the different fabrics, embellishment, and textures. This photo was taken from one area on the back. The fabrics are from different companies and now I wish I had labeled them....but that's too OCD for me.

This is Marie with her pink (gardening) gloves. The Martin Memorial Cancer Center hosted some of the Susan G. Komen events. These gloves were inspired by the hospital video below. Marie used to facilitate a fund raiser by selling wonderful native plants. Thus...the gardening pink gloves. Soon we'll have a photo of Debbie with her glamorously embellished pink gloves.

My trip to the Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach

Well I made it to the Kimono exhibit at the Society of the Four Arts and it was great. Stopped for lunch in Palm Beach and zipped home before the traffic started. After viewing the incredible Kimono exhibit (they didn't allow photos) I went to check out their GARDENS!!! Wow!!!

Check out this incredible blog! She is a self described "13 year old dork". Target sent Tavi the Rodart Collection and she makes it "her" style. You must read deep into her postings. She has been to "fashion week" and Tokyo. One of her 2009 resolutions was to learn how to sew. I wish she would...imagine the fashion she would design.
